Candy/Treat Bar

Now that you have seen the bags I am using for my treat/candy bar. I wanted to share with you the things I have decided to include. As I mentioned in my bag blog one of my bridesmaids and best friend's mom has offered to spend the day baking with me (a few days before the wedding) to help create the candy/treat bar. I am so thrilled that I will get to spend the day with my BM and her mom and I know it will be relaxing and meaningful. I have been collecting ideas on what to include for months.

Here are the things that I know we will be making:

PROJECT: CANDY BARS
(I found this idea on the Creature Comforts blog. Here is a link to the DIY Project) This is an easy project where we will just wrap Hershey chocolate bars

WHAT WE NEED:
• Chocolate bars
• Paper to wrap
• Labels
• Glue Dots

(from Creature Comforts blog)

PROJECT: HEART BROWNIES
(I found this project on the amazing Twig and Thistle blog)
This project should be easy we just need to make yummy brownies and cut heart shapes!

WHAT WE NEED:
• Brownie Mix
• Heart Shape cookie cutter

(from Style Me Pretty)

PROJECT: RICE CRISPY STICKS
Hopefully this will be easy! We just need to make rice crispies and add to it!

WHAT WE NEED:
• Rice Krispie Treats
• Sticks
• Dipping Chocolate

(from Style Me Pretty)

PROJECT: CARMEL MARSHMALLOWS
I have never done this before but not sure how hard it would be. I think we can use regular marshmallows and coat them in caramel. It would be awesome with square marshmallows.

WHAT WE NEED:
• Marshmallows
• Caramel for dipping
• Sticks
(from Style Me Pretty)

PROJECT: CANDY BUTTONS
When I saw this idea on Bake It Pretty I flipped out. I love it so much. I immediately went out and bought the candy molds. They were a great price! Buy them here.)

WHAT WE NEED:
• Chocolate Candy Melts
• Molds
• Little baggies for candy
• Labels

PROJECT: CHOCOLATE COVERED PRETZELS
This is simple but I thought it was easy to throw in the bags.

WHAT WE NEED:
• Pretzel Rods
• Chocolate for dipping (white/dark)

PROJECT: WRAPPED CANDIES
I love the look of these. I know they are simple but I thought they could be fun!

WHAT WE NEED:
• Candy to wrap
• Tissue paper in pretty colors
• Twine
• Ribbon Lace

PROJECT: COOKIES!!
I would love to have some chocolate chip cookies in a jar to include! I thought we could make a big batch with yummy, yummy gourmet chips!

WHAT WE NEED:
• Recipe
• Chocolate Chips

PROJECT: MINI CUPCAKES
I thought this might not be too hard. But with ADORABLE mini cupcake holders, it could be perfect.

WHAT WE NEED:
• Mini Cupcake Tins
• Cupcake Holders
• Cake Mix
• Icing

I feel so lucky that my BM's mom offered to help with this. I know it will be a fun day before the wedding putting all of this together.

Did you have any shower alternatives?

  1. Best candy bar ever. Seriously I'm not even getting married and I love your blog. You should be an event planner.
