My design came together a few months ago. I knew I wanted to include the birds and tree and wanted them to be simple. I tapped into the amazing resource of Mrs. Cupcake to help line things up correctly and create a formal document. (she is a life saver!)
So the real stress was the actual printing. Did I spend the money to have the invites letterpressed or should I give it a shot with my own printer and this gorgeous Gmund paper? Well on Saturday I decided I could sacrifice a sheet of the paper to do a test. And things turned out....SO MUCH BETTER THAN I EXPECTED.
Here is the rsvp card. I love the woodgrain. I love that it almost makes the invitations look letterpressed.
Here is a sneak at the actual invitation. Again I think the woodgrain looks so rich!.
I have so much more to share but I have only made ONE OF THESE! I have so much work to do but I promise to share all of the details including costs. I estimate that by doing it myself I am saving at least $500 and it seems so worth it!
Did you feel so relieved when your invitation design came together?
WOW!! beautiful! Perfect! I am stressing about this baby shower invitation, I can't imagine how I will be when I have to design my wedding invite. I'm sure your relief feels so good.
ReplyDeleteVery cool! How many do you have to print? And I have to ask... Apple Cider? I did all my own caligraphy. It showed, but it saved me a boatload!
ReplyDeleteHi Carolyn,
ReplyDeleteI'm interested to do my wedding invitations with this paper too! Can I ask what home printer did you use to print? Is your paper 300gsm too?
Thanks
